RV furniture with storage built into it is much needed when you live in a space as small as an RV (even though some RVs are massive!).
It’s important to make sure that everything you have in your RV serves its purpose well. And if it can serve more than one purpose… well that’s ideal!
Furniture takes up so much room in our living spaces… sure, it adds huge value in terms of comfort, but could it also be used for more?
Space is at an absolute premium, and it’s super important to make sure that there is a place for everything. And no, piling everything on the sofa does not count as a place for everything!
Many RVs come with furniture built in and include storage in them; but sometimes that furniture is either uncomfortable or impractical so you want to pull it out. But what about all that storage space you’re going to lose as well?
That’s where RV furniture with storage built-in will be great…

RV Furniture with Storage Built In
RV dining tables are one of those things that takes up a lot of precious space in an RV, but they’re so useful. Not only do we eat at them, we also relax there, use our computers or devices, do crafts, read, study, write… there’s so much that we do while sitting at a table.
Square or rectangular tables are usually going to make the most sense, and if they come with either a shelf or cupboards underneath, that makes them really useful! (As long as they don’t get in the way of your knees, or cause you to kick your shins every time you sit down.)
Ikea Gateleg table with drawers – I’ve seen a number of renovated RVs with this dining table and it seems to fit on a slide well.
Dining table with wide drawer and fold up leaf
With any of these folding dining tables, it’s important for you to consider whether you actually need it to be folding, or whether you’ll end up having it at the large size all the time anyway.
Simple Folding Dining Table with Storage Rack – a nice simple design
Wine Rack Counter Height Dining Table, with Open Storage Space for Wine Bottles and Glasses – you may not be wanting to store your wine glasses here for travel, but the cubby spaces can certainly be used for something else.

And here’s a round RV dining table with storage that I love… but may prove to be an impractical shape for all but the largest of RVs.

If you don’t already have a kitchen island, but you have the space for one, you could consider getting a portable kitchen island which has storage built into it. Like these examples…
Hodedah Kitchen Island with Spice Rack, Towel Rack & Drawer
Kitchen Island w/Storage Drawers/Baskets Dining Stand
Single Drawer Kitchen Cabinet Storage Cart
Bamboo Kitchen Cart with Stainless Steel Top
I’m suggesting that it be portable so that it can be moved around in your small space and secured off to the side when not in use, travelling, or the slide can’t be put out.
Another way of maximizing the space in your RV, would be to combine your kitchen island with your breakfast bar, and doing away with the dining table altogether.
Here’s what I mean…

Many people find that a custom built sofa is the best option for their RV, simply because space is so limited and you want to make the most of every inch that you can. If you want storage under your sofa as well, then custom built really is your best option.
However, if you can find a store bought sofa, with storage, that fits (!!) well, you’re on to a winner. Here are a couple that you could look at:
Light Gray Linen Reversible Sleeper Sectional with Storage Chaise
70″ RV Jack Knife Sofa w/Arms | RV Sleeper Sofa – there is quite a bit of space under this sofa that can be used for storage.
Wood Frame Antique White Futon with Storage Drawers
If you want to have a recliner in your RV, then you’ll have to kiss good-bye to storage underneath your seat as there’s no room. There are some recliners that have storage in the arm rests, but it’s not much and most likely just for the remote and snacks!

Ottomans are my favorite in an RV because they can be so versatile. You can use them to put your feet up on, as a coffee table, an extra seat and extra storage.
Storage Ottoman Folding Bench Seat, Foot Stool & Storage
Square Storage Ottoman | Coffee Table
Blanket storage basket with tray table top
Hopefully these products have got your creative juices flowing and you’ve found some RV furniture with storage built in, that will fit in the space you have.
